Hey Brad, I marched right next to Greg, although I can no longer remember on which side, but I was the shortest snare drummer in the line (and 16 years old). It was my one and only year in drum corps, and a bit overwhelming. There was a weird dynamic going on (that I didn't really understand) with Rob and Curt that I guess Fred and Ralph were dealing with too. Wacky times.

Do you know if there is sheet music available of this amazing drum solo? I love it since I first heard it on the 1980 vinyl record “State of the Art”.

You wouldn't expect such drumming coming from a band that wears this traditional uniform. Those "bus driver " hats! We wore those at Auburn back in the day. Hated those. But what a drum line! Keep on drumming! Proof positive you can always overcome the uniform hat! Ha!
